The Vindication of Bryce Scott

From PJStar:

A Peoria County grand jury Tuesday afternoon returned a seven-count indictment against two Peoria police officers accused of beating a Peoria man last May.

Andrew Smith, 29, and Gerald Suelter, 39, both face four counts of official misconduct, aggravated battery, battery and mob action. If convicted, they face up to five years in prison on each of the official misconduct and aggravated battery charges.

The charges stem from the May 3 pursuit and arrest of Bryce R. Scott, 34 near Abington Street and Perry Avenue. Scott led police on a chase that lasted several blocks before pulling over to apparently surrender.

Police got him out of his car, and Scott claims he complied with the officers. A squad car camera recorded what happened next. It appears Scott was taken to the ground within seconds, where he was completely out of view. Then officers are seen stomping and tasing him. Suelter is accused of repeatedly Tasing Scott while Smith is accused of kicking and stomping on Scott.

Oh Rodney....

What courage it must take to be a policeman; outnumber someone 4 to one, be wearing a bullet proof vest, carrying a 9mm, nightstick, pepper spray, and a taser and still be afraid of an unarmed black man.

kcdad2806,

It's even worse than that...now they have resorted to plain old strongarm tactics when they don't like something. White or black, don't dare respond saying your name too slowly either...
