Dear Anti-Pundit:
I am neither a card player or a witch with a torch, but I am entitled to my own opinion and will continue to call it as I see it, from my perspective – the perspective of a black woman living this shit. Many in Peoria (black and white) wish I would just shut the hell up (you know, kind of like how they feel about you), but that's the risk you run when you have a blog, isn't it?
Good Day,
Emerge

wow you got slammed by anti-pundit! take it as a sign your blog has arrived. you should know, anything cj is for anti-pundit is against. if cj links you to his blog expect backlash from anti-pundit.
great blog keep up the good work.
Well! I am a card player(Annie Duke don't have s#$t on me)and I have been called a witch on many occasions. With that said does that mean one does not have the right to stand up for what they believe in and to speak their mine on it?
Without the opinion and insight of others some of use could not understand or even comprehend the way we our selves feels at times.
That is why they have newspapers, blogs, and television. You make the choice on which you like to follow and believe in. Those of you who have your own blogs who have nothing better to do but to go on others to be a hypocrite because yours isn't getting the plugs you need, find you something worthy and something the people really wants to hear about. Not because you think you are important because of what you do or the mix you run with but because of what you say to the people who reads blogs blieve in.
Ms. Emerge,
You keep on delivering the truth and we will keep on reading it and standing by you. When we feel there is something that needs checking we will do that as well. To all of you who are reading this, we in the blogging world are not a bunch of dumb ass folks just out here blog surfing looking for ways to pass our time. We love and care about our community with a passion just as you do.DON'T PLAY US SHORT!
I must say I only disagree with one of your points. The fault. If you read the whole post, I basically agree with most. As for disagreeing with CJ. Not true. He hits the head on the nail a lot. Like with the Build the Block issue and he sometimes hits the head on the school district but since that is mostly what he post about of late, I tend to be more pro District. I have seen the successes there many times yet no one writes about that. I can have an opinion too, right? No one, especially me anyway has ever told you to shut up so get of the high horse. Or are you telling me to shut up??? As for the "many" you refer to, that is not from the responses I get but then I can see how you feel when your opinion is questioned huh? I mean you put your opinion out there, expect someone sometime to disagree.
Perhaps we are both being a bit too defensive. Did you not notice that I too am pro-District and speak of stopping the protesting?
I encouraged the debate and people who disagree come with that. None of us are above reproach.
... by the way - I am allergic to horses.
Ok cool....I can accept that. Keep on keeping on.
Just want to say bravo to the two of you for dropping it like it's hot and coming back to us.
This is what blogging and stating our opinion is all about.
Keep up the good blogging :).
I'm pretty sure that as a white person who's always been white, I have VERY little insight regarding race issues. I do, however, have lots of experience dealing with white people who say "I'm not racist, I've got some really good friends who are _____________". I feel frustrated that the possibility or notion of covert or even overt racism is dismissed out of hand simply because some white people say they WANT to live in a diverse community and WANT the best for ALL children. I'll take the experiences of those who have intimate knowledge of how shit goes down over a bunch of white guys (and gals) in suits any day.
I'm so glad your voice is here, Emerge. And I'm damned glad PAP is here, too.
My voice wouldn't be here without PAP. I read his blog for a couple of years before starting this. I have much respect for his hell raising ways.
Kumbaya yall... :)
