Arrests made in East Bluff murder

PJStar reports:

PEORIA — Police have arrested two East Bluff residents for the murder of a Gas USA attendant in their neighborhood last week.

Ali L. Evans, 20, of 803 E. Arcadia Ave. was arrested at his home Friday and on a warrant for criminal sexual abuse with force in an unrelated case. On Sunday, the charges of murder and attempted armed robbery were added.

DeAngelo M. Lindsey, 17, of 812 E. McClure Ave. was arrested at home about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. He was booked at Peoria County Jail early Monday on charges of murder and attempted armed robbery.

The arrests came days after the Wednesday night killing of Anil Dhingra, 58, a Washington resident who was shot multiple times in the head and chest about the 8 p.m. closing time at the gas station, 2506 N. Prospect Road. Police are describing the incident as a botched robbery.

I was hoping it wasn't going to be another routine robbery gone wrong by Peoria's youth. The month of May ended very poorly in the East Bluff.
