According to a person who currently sits on the County Board, the Executive Secretary over at the County makes $58,000 per year. How does that salary compare with the salary executive secretaries receive at District 150?
The salary information shown in the pjstar indicates that salaries in payroll and human resources average at $25,000 per year for secretaries. Unfortunately many of the secretaries who have been at the District for the longest periods of time and who have always been under the union contract are averaging $17,000 per year, with those at the highest levels (and ready to retire) capping out at $20,000 per year (and less).

Is the Secretary at the County full time? There are 2080 hours in a work year, which means this individual earns $3.85 per hour which is considerably below minimum wage??
Your math is wrong. $58,000/50 weeks/40 hours. Comes to $29/hr.
Emerge is on to something. It looked to me like they raised the secretaries pay to be in line with what they would have had to pay a new hire. There was a job listing for a secretary position. Good luck getting good one on $17,000 a year.
Mahkno - Well, yes, sort of -- I thought it said $8,000, not $58,000??? That is why I asked the question if he/she was part-time.
I agree that that if the District clerical workers are doing, even basic secretarial work, they are underpaid, especially if they have been in their positions for some time.
