The beginning of the school year is quickly approaching and it seems that District 150's new Superintendent hasn't stopped working since she got to Peoria. Other than needing to replace the recently ousted Controller, Pam Schau, Dr. Lathan's team is pretty much complete.

Who and where was it I saw comments that Dr. Lathan only talked to or preferred African-Americans? (Not here on EmergePeoria, but perhaps PJS)
Besides herself, there are only 4 African-Americans on her 'team' so far. The rest are caucasian, although some could be other.
She had held onto many already in place; not like she decided to replace EVERYONE with former colleagues from out-of-state.
I think this team will produce some WINS for District 150. GO GO GO!
I agree Dennis!
I too remember over on the Chronicle a person accused Lathan of being a reverse racist and talked about her hiring a person into Security who is not qualified.
I like the diversity of this group.
It seems to me that Lathan has put together, with some of her friends a million dollar payroll. I hope history doesn't repeat itself. Some of the names on her list are people that have been shuffled out of other positions after failing and shouldn't even be on the payroll. I won't name names but if you see things so rosy, then I'll go with that for the time being.
