New District 150 Organizational Chart introduced

For those of you who are baffled about the "chain of command" at District 150, here ya go...

Superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan introduced her 2010-2011 Administrative team and presented an updated organizational chart at the September 13th regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting. The Superintendent developed four goals for her team:

· Respect the Customer
· Respect Learning
· Respect Our Finances
· Respect Individual Differences

Thanks Emerge! When you try to overlay to the past "structue" you see some lower costs of new hires and a few higher. What is difficult to reflect is how some jobs have been consolidated or responsibilities centralized/decentralized. As a board and new admin, along w/teacher leadership and input, we need to begin after the IASB conference to more formally state and clarify the vision so Dr. Lathan can carry out the plan.

I thought Bobby Darling was a TEACHER? Guess he just pretends to be one so he can get the $20,000 a year paycheck for being the union prez.....gotta love the politics of D150....
Oh, what the heck is "formative assessment" other than a made up job for the assistant supt's husband.

Formative assessment--that was originally called benchmark specialist. I was very impressed with Dr. Latoya Kennedy last night. She spoke without notes and seemed very knowledgeable about curriculum, etc. Also, she seemed to be a very pleasant person.

JIm mentioned da "plan". Did the BOE purchase a particular "plan" for $198,000 + relocation and perks?

Emerge - thank you for posting this. I love that you deliver the facts to matters related to the District. Seems like their are a lot of people on the left-hand side of the chart with vague job titles but I will reserve judgment for now.

Dr. Lathan is scheduled to be interviewed on Sept. 22nd for a CAPtions show to air in October. While host Andre Bohannon usually uses a 'softball' approach, I usually get him to ask a couple of "hardball" questions.
So anyone here want some 'hard' answers from Dr. Lathan, as long as it doesn't violate personnel or confidential policies?

The job "given" to the assistant supt.'s husband used to belong to Susan Grznich, for less money......she was told that her job was being eliminated?

Susan made $100k and Ungurait is being pd $75k according to recently published info.

Dennis - I would be interested in learning whether Dr. Lathan is a supporter of the IB program, charter schools, magnet schools, and other specialized instructional programs.

Thanks!

Frustrated, I have it in the question list.
