LOVE IT! Explains why I simply scroll through a number of posts to this and other Blogs. Some folks just need their own blogs to cover their details and make reasonable posts elsewhere. That way, blog readers have a choice. You know I love your blog - for your view and opinion!
If you are not interested in hearing any views other than YOUR OWN, then why do you have a blog. You should have your OWN column at the Journal Star.......like Pam Adams.
Emerge- Please do not think that Sharon speaks for ALL members of the teachers union. That is far from the truth. Her views on most issues are shared by very few.
Baaahahahahahahahaha. Emerge is in TREAT mode! I'm going to watch my tongue - lest I get treated. But hey, it's great that we have the right to express our opinions . . . To get worked up publicly . . . Or bloglicly. We should keep the people in Egypt in our thoughts and prayers as they fight for the right to do the same!!! And I must say that I've tried to keep a blog . . . but found the upkeep to be too much for me. So I admire you, Emerge, for keeping this up and for keeping our wheels turning - even if some of us do rub you the wrong way sometimes. (Those snow days got me addicted.) What fun would a "can't we all just get along?" blog be?! :)
I wouldn't Sharon's views are shared by very few. However, I'll say that very few have the guts to speak up the way she does. She's not shuh nah nah nonymous.
Shame on you for criticizing Terry and Sharon and the District Watch Group for standing up for what they believe in. It's about time someone stood up to the abominable decisions that are constantly cranked out of that school district. Did you read the paper today? Even more money in the hole - due to years of incompetence and overspending. Now there will be more cuts (most likely of teachers which means even LARGER classrooms) and more tax increases. Shame shame shame on you! Apparently you think that you are the only one entitled to an opinion.
You all know A-D is a bit prejudiced fooishly in my favor--and he is, also, a peaceaker. He's talked me out of more than one snit. He is always more diplomatic than I am. That's why he and Karen have raised such wonderful children who are this minute putting away all their toys without any pressure from me.
Wait. You mean Emerge ISN'T Pam Adams?! Just kidding, Emerge. . . And Pam. Pam TRATED me in the newspaper once after I wrote a rather critical opinion piece re: some stuff going on at Manual. So, I called her up and . . . we had dinner (Pam paid - thanks again, Pam) and, of course, we discovered we agreed on more than we disagreed. We probably - via our pen stabbing - even came to some new insights. Argue, but don't get ugly with it.
I have watched the blogs without commenting for several months now. When I started posting I saw this format as a powerful mechanism to help develop strong relationships. Relationships are so needed if communities are to move forward, especially communities in turmoil.
I hope that all of the blogs can once again move in that direction.
Anon (#1) - if Emerge was not interested in hearing views other than her own, WHY would she host a blog topic on it?
To "Shame" - do you understand the difference between criticizing someone FOR standing up and expressing their opinion vs criticizing someone's OPINION? or HOW they express that opinion?
Steve, great to hear from you on the blogs again. I hoped you would return--but maybe not in the middle of a bruhaha revolving around my bad judgment. I wish you well as you move away from us--but that's the great thing about blogs; you can keep in touch long distance.
