So where does this leave Randy Simmons?

Brett Elliott, Principal of Roosevelt Magnet is the proposed new Principal for Peoria Central High School; Cindy Clark is proposed to be the new Principal at Richwoods High School.

I suppose if they bring in a new principal at Peoria Central (Elliott); Simmons could still stay on when and/or if they get the grant?

Randy is scheduled (so I hear) to be principal at Von Steuben. I have to admit that I am torn on this one. I love Brett and am sure he will do a great job. (not meant in any way to be a qualification for his getting the job--just my personal sentiments) However, I would have preferred that he be in the wings to get the PHS job when Randy retires.
Here are others–as confirmed as I can get: Phoels (sp) to Washington Gifted, Coleman staying at Glen Oak, Curtin to Irving, Barber to Rolling Acres, Jenkins to Trewyn, Blumer staying at Calvin Coolidge, Janovitz to Manual (not sure what position).

All I can say is that I do not understand how playing musical chairs will help the district–but I can see how it will help Lathan “earn” loyalty and obedience.

Unconfirmed update--Stockman, not Jenkins, at Trewyn--Jenkins not placed yet.

The principal of VonStupid should have been out a long time ago. Being a cousin of Shiock got him by for a long time. Hopefully he will be put out to pasture

I was told by Wolfmeyer at a candidates meeting that Simmons was planning to retire in 2 years. I guess this imminent retirement was a reason why they passed on the grant last year. Not sure what has changed or if it affects his retirement benefits in any way.

The grant was not voted on last night--I believe the grant information has become "unavailable" for the time being. The PHS alumni's request for the info was denied so they have sent the denial to the Attorney General. Randy is still retiring in 2 years but, obviously, the grant wasn't Lathan's only reason for moving him--only the Shadow knows.

More unofficial leaks: Montgomery to Woodrow Wilson, Janovitz is going to MHS as a grant specialisi but Kherat stays as principal, Thomas to the Knoxville Center, O'Day to Sterling; Monrad to board rooms, Duke out at Valeska but not sure where she will go, Andrews stays at Whittier, Rogers to Mark Bills, principal stays at Roosevelt

This is a cluster.....however....Lathan, Johnson, Delinski, and Kennedy are assured the loyalty from the chosen. Not much different than King Hinton. Wow!!!!!!

What is a shame is that the students at PHS circulated a petition about why they wanted Randy and Cindy to stay. They had about 400 signatures on it. Guess the powers-that-be don't have any respect for the students either.

The students did show it to both Randy and Cindy and they were, from what I was told, very humbled by their students' devotion and loyalty.

Of course, as Laura pointed out on another blog, the final decisions haven't been made by the board. I just don't hold out much hope that a majority of them will see the wisdom of reversing this decision. As I've said, I am not at all unhappy about Brett as a choice if Randy weren't in the picture. Personally, I liked the old way of choosing leaders. Groom the second in command to take over with the retirement of the principal--that would have been a great decision for PHS, which will need all the continuity it can get. Having principals out of their comfort zone might not make for a calm environment.

Has anyone heard about faith based "adoration service"? I heard that at Mr. Simmons church, he expressed concern over Ms. Clark's capabilities to another church member - who also happens to be a fellow ND parent - during their shared "hour".
