Check this out...Apparently there were two very large fights that popped off in the Harrison Homes Housing Project last night.
The first fight allegedly started with girls fighting over a cigarette, which escalated to a large group fight.
The second incident was allegedly when some white guy came down to buy some weed - he got his money taken and didn't get the drugs. So, the white guy left and came back with reinforcments (his crew). Again, a large fight broke out.
I'm told that Police had Montana and Trewyn streets blocked off for hours and the chaos continued well into the morning (3:00 a.m.). A check of the local newspaper's "police, fire and courts" page did not reveal any information regarding either incident.
What about Peoria Housing Authority (PHA) Security?
After talking to several people about the mythological thing referred to as "Peoria Housing Authority Security", not one person who I've talked to has EVER seen a PHA security person or a PHA security camera, or a PHA security car. So, that leads me to believe that there is no such thing as security in the PHA.

I always used to laugh when some kids from Chillicothe's car would break down in the Warner, usually around midnight, then they would get robbed. Then there car would magically start. Actually, they were trying to buy weed, I had a good friend who lived in the Warner back then, they even took their clothes. No the Dub H is the place to buy weed. If you don't belong there, stay out. In case you didn't know it Peoria is the land of fairy tales, every thing is good here.
PHA hires off duty PPD to run security BUT they use the same uniform as well as same cars. They also go off duty around 11:00pm. They are pretty much useless for real security.
Eye in the Sky
a person showed up at methodist hospital on saturday 8/6 that had been shot at the car wash on main street. he gave a description of the vehicle the shooter was in and where they could find his blood.
Not a crime scene, but I'm surely wondering what was going on on the Main Street Hill in the area of the old Twin Towers around 11:00 today. There were about six firetrucks lined up (on both sides of the street), but I couldn't see any activity on the ground.
If what Anon says about the car wash is true, that's the second incident in that area in the last few days. The other day the gas station across from Running Central was held up in broad daylight.
I thought it ironic that Running Central left the neighborhood just days before their building was shown on the news as a backdrop for a crime scene.
Looks like what Anonymous posted earlier was true...
From the pjstar:
Three people were reported shot and one stabbed in three separate incidents early Sunday morning.
The first incident involved nine shots fired at a car wash. City police received a call at 12:01 a.m. for shots fired at Main Street Car Wash and Custom, 917 W. Main St.
It was later discovered that a shooting victim from the incident was taken in a private vehicle to Methodist Medical Center for multiple bullet wounds.
According to police, the victim was shot in the face and the neck and listed in “guarded” condition.
About an hour later, at 1:20 a.m., a man was stabbed on Knoxville Avenue. The victim was inside the Glenbrook Apartments, 4717 N. Knoxville Ave., when he was stabbed. The suspect fled but later called police and turned himself in without incident. His name is not yet available. The injuries to the victim were described as non-life threatening.
Then, at 1:50 a.m., shots were fired at the Peoria Palace Roller Skating Rink, 11009 N. State St., Mossville.
According to police, there were multiple shots fired, multiple fallen victims and a second round of shots. A pair of juveniles were reported shot, one in the leg and the other in the arm. The Peoria County Sheriff’s Department is investigating. No further details are available.
8:20 - just listening to the scanner in the last few minutes...
Shooting victim at Nebraska and Delaware (shot in hand); another victim at Nebraska and Wisonsin.
Large fight at 611 Alexander Street
(yes at Alexander Street Steak House).
I am not sure if anyone caught the large fight on California St. I don't know what block number. There were reportedly 50 youth involved. late night, a couple of weeks ago. NO media coverage. Apparantly these things are so common place the media isn't catching them. Also note that PJstar relys on police reports. The cops do not fill out a report on each incident they are involved. No arrest, no demand for report, not done, would make the crime stats too accurate for the powers that be who are looking to dump millions of tax dollars into a new neighborhood (aka: Warehouse) vs. investing in the areas currently paying for police, code, roads, sidewalks, etc.
