People are shooting on the regular on the East Bluff and South end and never get caught

But let somebody get shot out North and all kinds of suspects get arrested. But then again, we already know where this City's priorities lay and it ain't with the inner city neighborhoods. Did we find at least one of the 4-5 guys who committed the strong armed robbery in broad daylight down at Church's Chicken yesterday?

Three more held in Thursday shooting
One suspect arrested at hospital after being shot

A man who was shot in the forearm Thursday night is one of three additional people to be arrested in connection with another shooting that took place less than an hour earlier in Northwest Peoria, according to Peoria police.

Andre M. Ewing, 28, of 2306 W. Wiswall St. was arrested Saturday afternoon at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. He was taken to St. Francis after sustaining a gunshot wound that brought police to an apartment at 2604 N. Lavalle Court before 7 p.m. Thursday.

Ewing is a suspect in the shooting that left an unidentified man in critical condition at St. Francis. The victim, who was shot in the head, was found outside the home of Juan F. Nesbit, 21, of 3616 Hedgehill Lane. Nesbit remains in Peoria County Jail pending a second appearance Tuesday in bonding court.

Police also have arrested Aaron S. Frazier, 21, of 2009 W. Starr St. and Tonica E. Fullilove, 21, of 810 E. McClure Ave. in connection with the Hedgehill Lane shooting. Ewing, Frazier and Fullilove were booked on charges of attempted murder. Ewing faces additional charges of obstructing justice and false reporting of an offense. A bond of $500,000 was set Saturday for Nesbit on a charge of aggravated battery.  Source

I'm glad the PPD is arresting those who may be involved, but...

but it would be nice if they gave a damn about what was happening in the East Bluff or South End!

Maybe witnesses came forward with good information.

Yeah, that's it, because I'm sure they wouldn't pull cops from hot spots to spend more time running this case down.

I think they need a "substation" on the East Bluff. Maybe that would detour crime.

I like your blog, because you bring a fresh perespective to my life. I automatically assumed that they caught the guys doing the SAME amount of police work that they do for all cases. You assumed something different. I assumed that they had witnesses that came forward and you assumed that they spent extra time hunting down the criminals by pulling cops from the South end because they don't care about south end crimes.

Hi taxpayer...

Unless you are an African American female of a certain age, raised in a certain place and time, more than likely your perspective would vary from mine. That's the beauty of a blog, a chance to explore other perspectives. Thanks for being open to that.

Or they caught the dbags because one of the people shot was a suspect. Also the fact this happened out north more people are likely to talk to police unlike the bluff or south. If you had your scanner on this night you would of heard the police actually had a lot less officers involved in this case as they were spread between two different shootings. All those "protected people" out north better start preparing to see more of these things happening in their neighborhoods with these thugs being placed in the apartment complexes out north not to mention when they figure out there are only 5 police officers north of forrest hill to dunlap. Move out of P-troit if able

What? I think Emerge does an excellent job of considering new points of view--and certainly allows us to express ours.

Of course, PAP. While the two of you might "agree on 90%", you share a dialogue on each other's blog rather than insulating yourselves with like-minded people.

Besides, I think what chapped your ass most wasn't the criticism itself - but that it was a recent REPUBLICAN criticism of Obama used (somewhat tongue in cheek, methinks) against you :)

Emtronics said...

Naw, I think it's great to have a dialogue but yes Republicans do chap my ass because they are self righteous hypocrites. Take for example the latest on those Marines urinating on those dead bodies. Many on the GOP side cheer this and I find it completely out of line considering this country is supposed to set the high moral standards for the rest of the world. I won't judge the soldiers myself but bible toting Republicans that condone this scare the hell out of me more than any terrorist ever could. We are supposed to be a country with values, that believes in God and as far as war goes,a signer of the Geneva Convention which this act is clearly against. So, I don't trust Republicans and as I have always said, a working person in this country that votes Republican is like a chicken voting for Col. Sanders.

By the way, what exactly should Obama be doing or have done to help those less fortunate in this country than he has already done? He is the President, not the King and as such, he has to go through those nut jobs in Congress. They can't even vote to agree to change a light bulb. I would like to know what it is Dr. Dyson and others think Obama should be doing.

Is this the son of Juan Nesbit that had some he was in the news years ago? Seems like that Juan, shot someone and some how Richard Pryor was involved. Seems, Mr. Pryor helped him out of trouble and then he continued to repeat his actions. I am asking because the name really stands out.
