The team they beat said it was a good game, a close game, and well-played by all. Congratulations!

Congratulations to both teams! Love to hear about good sportsmanship! Don't hear about that everyday.

Congratulations to the kids for what sounds to have been a great season and to the adults who were instrumental in opportunity for the kids to excel.
But, with all due respect...Proctor was exclusively for softball not baseball, men's fast pitch softball, in its glory days through the early/mid 70's...baseball was never allowed. When I was young in the 50's and 60's you weren't even permitted to enter into the gates with a baseball, only softballs. The manager and assistants would chase you out if they saw with a hardball, let alone playing a game. If we wanted to play hardball we made the trek up 3 or 4 blocks to Roosevelt and played there. But, the softball was magnificent...the Keystone teams, the She-Kat Club, the Palmer House and the rest. It's a shame that the sport has virtually dies out locally.
