Just a couple of weeks ago, Denise Moore announced that she would be seeking to fill Councilman Clyde Gulley's 1st District seat. Today, blogger, Randall Emert a/k/a Emtronics a/k/a Peoria Anti-Pundit is announcing his candidacy for the 1st District seat with a 1,347 word essay, which is actually free of curse words. It appears that his platform will be consistent with some of the issues that stick in the blogger's craw.

I'm glad you are running Randall. We need people like you and CJ on the council. By the way I heard today that District 150 bought some new textbooks 2 years ago and the schools have been told to throw them away because they changed suppliers. We also need you on the school board, Randall.
Thank you and I hope CJ runs in the 2nd. He is smart and would be excellent. I wouldn't touch the school board with a ten meter cattle prod. A thankless job at that and people always couch quarter backing every decision. As for counting words, mine will if I copy and paste a post to Word or something or open it in Live Writer. I think the word count is just sick. :)
BTW, if my only running mate is Moore, I have no chance in heck most likely as the PJS won't give me the spread they gave her when she announced some weeks ago. Although I am going to give it one heck of a try.

To qualify as a rant, it needs to be at least 150 words, so it doesn't matter if you count the header in this instance.

Gosh Randy, you and your buddy Spain on the same council. He just got them to spend $200,000 in emergency funding so he won't get his shoes damp on the way to work. HP is in the toilet, perhaps their spending priorities were problematic...sound like the council? The paper states the new temporary CEO of HP says that the EDC is being re-evaluated, yet the council is once again dumping public money into the EDC, when private investment is holding off.
Good luck with that. The majority of the council will work to get each and every yes vote it can, you're in for an ugly, ugly election. Best of luck...
Mr. Emert, glad to see you won't touch the school board with a 10 meter cattle prod, since, according to Red Hill General Store (.com), it is "the easiest, most humane way to deal with livestock." May I suggest a "Jacob's Ladder" instead???

When the West Bluff neighborhoods were fighting to stay in the 2nd district- oddly enough, the 2nd district councilperson was one of those they fought against- Chuck Grayeb gave advice and support to the various WB neighborhood leaders and was a visible presence. While CJ is a good guy, he was strangely quiet during this important battle. If BVA had gotten her way, CJ would be mulling a 1st district run.
Best of luck to Emtronics. I think he is the best guy for the 1st.
So, what is Mr. Emert's qualifications and background that makes him feel he would be a good candidate for 1st district. Did he grow up in the area?
Previous Anonymous, read Randall's blog entry that lists his qualifications. He's more than qualified to represent us in the First. He like so many of us has seen it all down here.
