New HR Director at District 150 or not?

Recently, somebody pointed out to me that the last couple of HR reports for the Board Meetings have not been prepared by Teri Dunn, who is listed as the District's HR Director. Amy Moore, who is an HR Assistant, has been doing the reports. HR Assistant's have done the reports in the past.

However, rumor his it, Amy is doing the reports because Terri is currently not working due to an investigation regarding her retiring in June and then returning to the same job she had when she retired. Apparently, this is a violation of the Teacher Retirement System. I'm told, the District had Terri switch over her retirement to another system, however that system has the same requirement that "an individual cannot return to the same position in the same district in which you retired."

Dunn is the former Woodruff High School principal, who took over when Deb Dimke left the District. The District knew when Dunn took the position that she planned to retire in 2012.

Having retired administrators come back in a different capacity was a regular practice during the Hinton Administration.

Who is the principal at Woodruff now?

Dr. Ryan Olson, the (former) Director of Special Services is now the principal at Woodruff, I believe.

And who is Dr. Olson? Where did he come from before being at PHS? Did Duke get more money like Annette Coleman and Gloria Cox did to take a different position?

Yes I'd like a double dip of that please.

Yes, you are correct. Hinton did bring retired administrators back, but not in the same position. Really think about this, Dunn retires as the Dir. of Human Resource of District 150, so she receives her retirement monthly. Then she is hired back as the Dir. of Human Resource of District 150 and is paid another salary. This my friends is double-dipping at its finest. This should enrage the public because if Dunn wanted to continue to be the Dir. of HR she should not have retired. Where are those fine attorneys the district is paying...why didn't they catch this double-dipping?

Does anyone else see the irony in the fact it was the person in charge of Human Resources that is involved here? This person should be aware of lwas pertaining to hiring, retirement, etc!

This is a perfect example of why the retirement system is broken! Shame on Lathan and Ms. Dunn!

Hinton and Lathan aren't the first superintendents to hire retired administrators--their buddies. With the job market being what it is, I think it's wrong for all this double dipping at high salaries to boot. Of course, today it would be either retirees or North Carolina hires. Nevertheless, I think these jobs should go to new people.

Since people have mentioned Hinton here, he made some of the worst hiring decisions ever in the history of district 150.

As far as Dunn, hmmmm, not to smart. She should have known better. Makes me wonder about some of her decisions while a full time employee. As far as Latham, hmmm, not too smart either.

Some of you are acting as though PSD 150 is the only District that hires retired individuals. Check out your surrounding Districts, you will be surprised.

Anyway, if Caterpillar can do it, why do you think PSD-150 can't? It is all about getting the job done in the most efficient manner. No benefits. What's wrong with that?
Stop hating.

Caterpillar is NOT a public entity. Caterpillar employees are not paid with tax dollar...ding-a-ling!

You don't get it. Other districts do not hire a retiree to do the same job they retired from...that is the problem. Why hire Dunn as the HR Director (she retired as the HR Director) and pay her twice..there is a reason the retirement system doesn't let that happen...it is called double dipping and let's hope Dunn paid back the money she was paid during July & August. She retired June 30th......
