The District Disputes/Answers:
The board on Monday hired Teri Dunn as a labor relations specialist, a newly created non-certified position that serves as a precursor to the district's plans to hire an in-house attorney. Dunn retired as The District's Human Resources Director July 1. She was off while The District made sure there were no issues with her retirement benefits. The Illinois State Board of Education had to approve the new position as a non-certified post. Source
Questions/Rumors about Dianne Duke and Ryan Olson:
The District Disputes/Answers:
On Monday, Ryan Olson was named principal of Woodruff Career and Technical Center. He replaces Diann Duke, who was moved to Hines Primary School as an assistant principal. Her salary will remain the same. Source

Some things never change - the District is always a day late and a dollar short . . .
The Dunn gaffe was avoidable on so many levels, right? Where is the forethought?
Dunn had a date certain in which she was to retire, why not begin a search for her replacement (or legal staff)well before that date?
In any event, why not sort out the retirement hire back rules before the District implemented its latest "plan"? Could the "Labor Relations Specialist" scheme not been concocted by whomever earlier rather than later?
This appears to be yet another example of failure to adequately plan and manage the District.
You are correct Frustrated, Teri Dunn announced she planned to retire in 2012, when she agreed to fill in for Deb Dimke back in October of 2010.
If people think she really isn't going to do the HR Director's work, they are sadly mistaken. This is just a cover up so she can keep on doing the job.
There are quite a few retirees being hired back. And here I thought "the locals" were inadequate and didn't have the skill sets.....so which is it???
Was that position ever posted? What if there were others that wanted to apply for it?
