Tagg Romney says he wanted to ‘take a swing’ at Obama during the debate
Some of the verbal punches thrown by President Obama during Tuesday night’s debate made Mitt Romney’s son want to throw one of his own.
“Jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him,” he responded with a laugh, according to a recording obtained by BuzzFeed.
“But you know you can’t do that because, well, first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him, but also because this is the nature of the process. They’re gonna try to do everything they can do to try to make my dad into someone he’s not.”
“We signed up for it, we’ve got to kind of sit there and take our punches, and then send them right back the other way,” he added. Source

Thanks for putting the comment in perspective and obviating the point of your whole post. LOL

Swings at Obama
Does this guy have anything to actually run on?
I do what I can to help you guys out Vonster. You are welcome.
@ Vonster, yet you still clicked on the post. Yeah, you should thank Emerge.
I am always willing to let the left entertain me.
I think Tagg knows the difference between wanting to do something and actually doing it. he shouldn't of said it but hey he did. Unlike anyone that thinks: man I am sick and tired of listening to you and I wish I could smack you. of course I am not the esteemed President of the United States.
Did you SEE O'Donnell's response on MSNBC??
That man needs some serious help.
At least Tagg would run to his father's defense. Many black children have no idea who THEIR daddy is! Can you say promiscuous lifestyle?
Please! It has come to defending someone who disagree with a person and wants to do physical harm to that person because of it? And for crying out loud it was the President of the Untied States? Remember the outrage from mostly the Right when an Iraqi reporter threw a shoe at President Bush?
This is anew low for Republicans who seem to get lower everyday. Yes I can understand a son wanting to protect his daddy but to open one's mouth on a national venue? Real classy.
Coming from YOU....Randall! PLEAZZZZZE. Let some other bleeding heart liberal whine for once...
How do you suppose Mitt Romney dealt with his son's "slip of the tongue"? I would certainly like to know.
In reference to the Anon who said atleast he (Tagg) knows who his daddy is, unlike so many kids. Who said Mitt was Tagg's daddy? Remember they are Mormons and his daddy does have a "binder full of women".
Hey Anon....Sticks and stones Sticks and stones. Get behind your keyboard you ball less wonder. LMAO
Well Sharon, unlike to "fatherless" children of Peoria, my bet is that Mitt Romney DEALT with his son, instead of waiting for the police and a judge to do it for him. Bomb Squad......no daddies in their lives, maybe in prison or dead.
Randall, I take that as a compliment. I am a "balless wonder....I'm a female!
Great Female. No wonder. Issues?
Anonymous, are you assuming that all fatherless children have black fathers? Are you assuming that all white fathers are good parents, etc.? Our society and the societies of the past have had many fatherless children. In fact, the history of mankind is full of fatherless children. Where were the fathers of all the orphaned children in the orphanages of Charles Dickens' time?
First, an Anonymous presumes that Tagg knows the difference between wanting to do something and actually doing it. Now an Anonymous presumes to know how Romney dealt with Tagg when he heard about Tagg's threat. There is no way we can know that either--all speculation.
Besides if you have listened to any discussions about Romney's family life, you will know that he has spent considerable time away from home--that Ann did much of the parenting. You don't get to be a business mogul such as Romney by being at home every night with the family, etc.--especially, in his younger years, Romney was probably absent quite a bit of the time.
Fathers who are married to their careers often leave their children "fatherless" for many important moments of their lives. Some of those "rich" kids have been the ones such as the Columbine killers and the recent killer at the movie theater. Those killers weren't black or poor.
They may leave them at home with their mothers but they do not leave them home with their mothers AND penniless, expecting the taxpayers to support their covorting around...
Sometimes they even divorce the mothers and don't provide for their children--and government assistance is often needed. Even if the richer, whiter divorced men provide financial assistance, they leave their children--for all practical purposes--fatherless.
All I'm trying to say is that there are slackers in all races and in all economic brackets when it comes to being fathers. Your bias is so very faulty.
So what's the new low for Democrates? I mean Tagg says--I'd like to, but I know I can't--which is expressing an emotion, not an actual threat. However, all I have to do is go to any Democratic twitter, news organization, or facebook and see thousands of death threats against Mitt Romney or threats to kill and rape white people for not supporting Obama. Please explain to me the difference. The only one I can think of is everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others (theme and warning from Animal Farm). And by others I do mean Democrats.
We could find the same threats on Republican blogs--my own cousin wrote on Facebook that if Obama wins--Revolution! And that means many would die. Of course, there are crazy people on both sides--but there haven't been any death threats on this blog
A major difference is that Tagg Romney has by his own choice and with the acquiescence of the campaign become a ranking member of the campaign organization and was being interviewed on the record...
No, I don't think that it's an end of the world comment or that he planned on actually attacking the President but it does simply demonstrate a lack of respect for the office and a lack of insight by a middle aged adult speaking in a public venue.
I don't think anybody believes that he would be stupid enough to physically attack the President--I do agree that he shows a lack of insight and maturity, etc. However, he will expect the rest of us to have the kind of respect he lacks if his father becomes President. I certainly wonder what people would be saying if anyone in the Obama campaign expressed a desire to slap Romney. No, I don't wonder.
Everyone puts their foot in their mouth at times, regrets saying something they shouldn't. Such is the case for Tagg. Let's move on, folks, and focus on getting the real facts behind what the candidates (for any race) promise or say about their opponent. Both the Donkeys and the Elephants are guilty of stretching truths to the point they are lies. Before you vote, use websites that do fact checks. Even the MSM networks offer some fact checks after the debates.
This is off topic, but the only article I get. Is anyone else having trouble with the page not loading fully?
Yes, I just got on again, and same thing. I only get the topic article. Thank you for posting that.
If you click on older posts, it will take you to the next post. Or if you click on October in archives, it will show all posts for October.
Dennis, many people put their feet in their mouth--however, in this case an apology would have been appropriate--did we hear one?
Of course Tagg wouldn't actually punch the President, or would he? What it shows is complete disrespect that is running rampet in this country and you can see it here on this blog by the name calling whenever someone disagrees with your opinion.
The point is, someone like Tagg, the son of a Presidential candidate shouldn't have even suggested hitting the President. Could you imagine the outrage on Fox News and from the Right if Michelle Obama had said anything close to this? My Lord, heads would have exploded.
This is pretty late in this blog, and might not have much to do with current topic. On Comcast they have a program called "Ten things you didn't know". Since most of their shows are crap "honey boo-boo", "Jersey Shore" etc. Everyone should look at the "ten things you didn't know about Mormonism". Wow what an eye opener, in their relativity short history they accomplished a lot. Racism, murder, helping build Las Vegas with the mob. Oh, and the part about Native Americans being Jews that God got mad at and turned their skin dark. Kinda makes the "Heavens Gate" people look not so far fetched. I normally don't put down one religion more then any other religions, but they are all made by men with agendas, and if this program is factual, wow. I sure don't want one running my country.
This is why some call Mormonism a cult. I read almost all of the Book of Mormon mainly because I could not believe what I was reading. It was like science fiction and I could not comprehend that millions of people belong to this belief.
The public is more accepting of his religion because he's not Black.
and AMEN!
I'm not for Romeny, but feel he is the lesser of two evils.
It is obvious to all that Obama will not be living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. much longer. He has proven after three debates that he is not the great orator he thinks he is. Honestly, I believe he is nothing more than a puppet for the left.....the puppet masters; Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
Not to all. I am a teacher and a middle class citizen and I can't imagine putting Romney in the white house. I don't even exist in his world. After last night's debate, my question is: Did Romney forget about all the jobs Bain shipped to China? To hear him talk about how awful it was that jobs were going over seas last night was beyond ridiculous.
WHERE ARE ALL THE JOBS, MR. OBAMA? WHERE IS ALL THE HOPE AND CHANGE? FOUR YEARS LATER AND OBAMA IS STILL BLAMING BUSH.....IF HE WINS, WHO WILL HE BLAME IN FOUR MORE YEARS?
I heard Romney say that government doesn't create jobs. So how can he then blame Obama and, also, say that HE, Romney, will create jobs. I do know the answer, but Romney didn't spell it out. Government can create an environment to create jobs. How that is to be done is the big question--both parties have different answers--but the President doesn't create jobs.
