Beyonce, tell them to leave Gwyneth Paltrow alone..

If they want to go after somebody for the use of the stupid "N-word", go after JayZee and/or Kanye.

These two clowns appear to have been given a bye on the use of the stupid "N-word." JayZee is glorified by Forbes Magazine, while Kanye is the darling of all media. Even though, there was supposed to be some kind of agreement among right thinking folks to phase the "N-word" out, these two still continue to use it - every doggone chance they get.
Buffet throwing up Jay Z's diamond symbol

These two artist have crossed over the great divide; they are now accepted in all social circles; they hang with the President and Warren Buffet. JayZee is treated as if he is the coolest, most respectable, black business man that ever lived.

Many folks can recite every JayZee track (black, white, young, old). I am always amused when I see some accomplished, college educated, professional talk about JayZee, as if that makes them cool. NOT.

People in Paris for the "Watch the Throne" concert
As far as I am concerned, JayZee ain't cool and he needs to retire his bourgeoisie, thug shtick.

We all know that when we are around our friends, if we use particular words and don't consider them offensive, there is a possibility that friend might get around somebody else and use that word, not knowing that it will offend.

The night that Beyonce's (Jay's wife) bestie, Gwyneth was at the concert, hanging with all the VIPs and she tweeted the comment... JayZee and Kanye had just performed the track "N***a's in Paris" ELEVEN TIMES STRAIGHT... "that ish kray."

So again, if you wanna go after somebody for the use of the stupid "N-Word", when will we be going after JayZee and Kanye?

Why I dispise Ciroc Obama f/k/a Diddy

A video that surfaced on the web last week shows Sean Combs (Diddy) lashing out at an Atlanta party-goer for not drinking Ciroc.

The notorious name-changer has recently taken to calling himself Ciroc Obama: Through his vodka deal with beverage giant Diageo, Diddy receives an annual cut of profits and a big chunk of cash if the Ciroc brand is ever sold (Ciroc’s value is soaring toward $1 billion). Diddy’s Net worth: $550 million. Source

In my opinion Sean John Combs, Shawn Corey Carter, Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. and the rest of these aging rappers are a pariah on the black community and need to give it a rest.

The video below is explicit, lots of cussing and use of the "N word", just general all around buffoonery on full display. The video shows Sean Combs (a/k/a Diddy, Puff Daddy, Puffy, P Diddy) being the true arse that he is: T.I. and Diddy hosted BET's Hip Hop Awards after party at Compound, ATL! Diddy calls out non-Ciroc drinkers and pours fresh Ciroc all over the crowd! Later on shots are fired in the club!

TI who is fresh out the pen (for the third time) and is still on probation, tries to redeem himself for being involved with the nonsense and attempts to put "Puff" (Diddy) in check.

At first glance I thought Jay-Z was top 400

I snatched up the magazine and purchased it, anxious to get it home, to see how far he was from the bottom. Much to my surprise, his name was not even on the list. BlackVoices goes hard...

Jay-Z Exploited by Forbes Magazine to Sell '400 Richest Americans' Issue

Jay-Z is featured on the cover of this month's Forbes magazine with billionaire Warren Buffet, not because he is listed as one of the 400 richest people in America by Forbes, as Buffet is. No, Jay-Z is included on the Forbes cover because someday, he hopes he will be included on the list of the 400 richest people in America. And Jay-Z just might be, if over the latter half of his life the rap mogul can double his wealth.

Of course, if one takes a closer look at Forbes' list of the 400 richest people in America, you will find exactly one black person: Oprah Winfrey. While that is no surprise, perhaps putting Oprah on the cover would not provide the needed boost of attention that Forbes is going for. I also can't imagine Oprah submitting to the condescending "little sibling" role that Jay is treated with by the editors of Forbes in pairing the successful rapper with the ancient investor. In addition to brazening using Jay-Z to sell magazines, what this does is two things:

1. It avoids a critical examination of what it takes to build massive wealth in this country, and who has access to that capital. If you look at the list of the 400 richest people in America, you will see that many of the richest are women and men who have inherited wealth from extremely successful family members. And of course, you will see mostly white people, and very few women. By putting a "cool black guy" on the cover who isn't even on the list, Forbes seems to be trying to make America turn a blind eye to who is actually rich, how they get that way and how they stay that way. And forget about who is consistently kept out. Sorry, Forbes, but we at Black Voices aren't distracted.

2. Jay-Z, who typically has a strong black male image, is made to seem submissive and needy. It has been widely reported that corporate America prefers black men who are "baby-faced," thus not threatening in appearance or demeanor to the mostly white men who run everything. This preference for docile-looking black men has of course made it difficult for African American men who do not fit this mold to get ahead in a corporate environment, even if their hard work and education make them deserving of promotion.

By casting Warren Buffet as the big kind Dad who can teach little Jay-Z to be a billionaire like him someday if he tries, not only is Forbes trying to get us to ignore all the many real barriers to wealth creation that most people face, "trying" aside (see point one). Corporate leaders who prefer their blacks submissive also get to eat up this kinder, gentler Jay like so much cream pie, thus reinforcing their preference for baby-faced black men. The magazine is also taking away one of the amazing things about Jay-Z's image that the African American community loves -- his inspiring masculine energy of self-determination. Say it ain't so, Hove!

Is Sean Carter the new Francis Albert?

JAY-Z started spreadin’ the news in September, and since then he has taken every prominent opportunity to remind us: he has a candidate for a new New York anthem, and he wants our votes.

Is this a painting of Michael Spinks?

A painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat has been sold for $13.5 million at an auction in New York City. The acrylic and oil painting, entitled the "Boxer" (shown above), was painted in 1982 and depicts a black heavyweight fighter with his arms in the air against a white graffiti-filled background. Not exactly what I would spend my savings on, but to each it's own.

Born to a Haitian father and Puerto Rican-American mother, Basquiat drew on his parents' cultures as well as his own upbringing in Brooklyn, New York. When he was 17, Basquiat emerged in New York's East Village, under the pseudonym SAMO, he became infamous for his cryptic graffiti.

By the age of 20, Jean-Michel Basquiat had already become a recognized street artist, poet and painter, starred in a semi-autobiographical film and befriended Andy Warhol (shown together here in this photo), one of the most infamous characters of the postmodern art era. To sum it up, Basquiat was moving fast.

Basquiat, who died at 27 years old from a heroin overdose in 1988, had a professional career that lasted approximately 10 years.

Basquiat is just one of many unsung heroes in the African-American community. His art grew along with the hip-hop culture. I remember reading a couple of years back that Jay-Z purchased a Basquiat for Beyonce Knowles (this is before they were married). It may not be a bad bet, that now that she is actually his wife, Jay-Z may have purchased this Basquiat for her as well. Lord knows he can afford it.
